September 23, 2007

As BLABBERMOUTH.NET first reported on September 6, Florida-based death metallers MALEVOLENT CREATION have now confirmed that they have parted ways with drummer Dave Culross. In addition, MALEVOLENT CREATION has revealed that bassist Jason Blachowicz is no longer a member the group. According to the band, "Dave and Jay have prior job obligations and could not try to work things out. Best of luck to them."

The group continues in a statement, "MALEVOLENT CREATION has a new drummer from the South Florida scene that is amazing. Dave isn't the only good metal drummer out there. MALEVOLENT CREATION compare this drummer to a Gene Hoglan-type of style and is a brutally fast hard-hitter. The names of the drummer and bass player will be [announced] soon.

"Thanks to all the fans who still support MALEVOLENT CREATION. This band is a machine and will finally be touring relentlessy all of 2008. See you on tour! No one can destroy this MALEVOLENT CREATION!!!!"

Fan-filmed video footage of MALEVOLENT CREATION performing at this year's Party.San Open Air festival, which took place August 9-11, 2007 in Bad Berka, Germany, can be viewed below.

MALEVOLENT CREATION's new album, "Doomsday X", was released in the U.S. on July 17 via Nuclear Blast Records and in Europe on August 24 via Massacre Records. The CD was recorded and engineered at Mercury Recording Studios in Pompano Beach, Florida by longtime friend and producer (and sometimes session member) Gus Rios, and is said to be the most diverse MALEVOLENT CREATION album recorded to date and "without a doubt their fastest!!" Mick Thomson, guitarist for SLIPKNOT, contributed a "ripping" guitar solo to the song "Deliver My Enemy".
